Core Values

  1. We understand that we can find God, and can experience intimacy, communication and companionship with Him in His Presence, if we share His love for righteousness.
  1. We are totally dependent on Him for everything, and we need and expect miracles of all kinds to sustain us and confirm the Gospel in our ministry.
  1. We look for revival among the broken, humble and lowly, and start at the bottom with ministry to the poor. God chooses the weak and despised things of the world to shame the proud, demonstrating His own strength and wisdom. Our direction is lower still.
  1. We understand the value of suffering in the Christian life. Learning to love requires willingness to suffer for the sake of righteousness. Discipline and testing make saints out of us, and produce in us the holiness, without which we will not see God’s face and share His glory. With Paul we rejoice in our weaknesses, for when we are weak we are strong.
  1. The joy of the Lord is not optional and far outweighs our suffering! In Jesus it becomes our motivation, reward and spiritual weapon. In His Presence is fullness of joy, and with Paul we testify that in all our troubles our joy knows no bounds (2 Cor. 7:4). It is our strength and energy, without which we die.

Mission Statement

Iris Manzini is a Christian NPO committed to expressing a living and tangible response to those commandments that Jesus called greatest: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” It is our conviction that the Spirit of God has asked us to make this love concrete in the world, incarnate in our thoughts, our bodies, our lives and our every action. We are part of Iris Global and exists to participate in bringing the Kingdom of God to earth in all its aspects, but most especially through our particular calling to serve the very poor: the destitute, the lost, the broken and the forgotten.

The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

— Matthew 25:40

In our surroundings “love” must every day mean bread for the hungry, water for the thirsty and healing for the sick. It must mean family for the orphan, freedom for the captives and peace for the desperate. We want always to make our love real in these ways, for as long as the poor are with us. Our ministry is built around the application of the Gospel to some of the most desperate economic and spiritual circumstances on earth, with all the boldness of which we, in Christ, are capable.

As we seek to display God’s heart in the outpouring of this love, we have found that we are also constantly blessed by a great many treasures uncovered in the hearts of those we are sent to serve. We believe it is also an important part of our calling to share these treasures with the whole body of Christ. It is our hope, therefore, that every one of our trials, our testimonies and our victories may in turn become life and encouragement for the entire church – “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God.” While our primary efforts are focused on the poorest of the poor, we remain constantly aware that we are enabled to make those efforts through the astonishing faith and generosity of men and women from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. As God has provided for us in this way, so we believe that together we receive our greatest reward, as members of a single people – one Body, one Bride.

Base Leaders

Andreas & Sweetness Huber

Andreas and Sweetness met in Nelspruit, South Africa. Andreas had moved from his home country, Germany, in March 2012 to serve at the Iris Base in White River. Sweetness was studying at the Iris Bible School in Backdoor. They married in December 2012 and began serving together in ministry.

They visited local Iris Churches in surrounding villages, encouraging and uplifting congregations. Andreas taught at the local Bible school, while Sweetness served in the Praise Team at Backdoor and Iris Revival Church in Nelspruit. They regularly went on outreaches and helped plant new churches, following God’s call to spread His love.

In 2018, God called them to start a new base in the Manzini region of Eswatini. While praying for direction, Sweetness had a vision and heard a voice instruct her to write down: “MLIBA.” After discovering that Mliba is a village in northern Manzini, they immediately traveled from South Africa to explore the area God had shown them—and soon after, they moved to Eswatini.

God connected them with local leaders, allowing them to share their vision and begin building relationships in the community. Today, Andreas and Sweetness live in Matsapha with their children, Josiah and Zipporah, continuing to serve God by ministering, teaching, and bringing hope to those around them.
